I give it

At this point in the series–when I initially read it–I was hoping that Paris‘ story would be next and was practically heartbroken when I saw that it would be Sabin. le’sigh.

Synopsis:

Bound by the demon of Doubt, Sabin unintentionally destroys even the most confident of lovers. So the immortal warrior spends his time on the battlefield instead of the bedroom, victory his only concern…until he meets Gwendolyn the Timid. One taste of the beautiful redhead, and he craves more.

Gwen, an immortal herself, always thought she’d fall for a kind human who wouldn’t rouse her darker side. But when Sabin frees her from prison, battling their enemies for the claim to Pandora’s box turns out to be nothing compared to the battle Sabin and Gwen will wage against love….

 Character Analysis:
Sabin is a relentless warrior and will do anything necessary to  win and or get ahead. Although this can be viewed as him being selfish, its easy to see both sides of this coin. His best friend was murdered by these delusional, deranged individuals who believe that all of the worlds evil lay on his and his friends shoulders; often times they’re called hunters. Because of this each and ever day he is at war to protect his friends, himself and everything he loves. So when you put it into perspective like that, being cold and calculated seems to be a given.

Now with Gwen its like a completely different situation. First off how cool is it that she’s a freaking Harpy and a descendant to Lucifer. Can we say bad ass. I loved Gwen because she reminded me of so many women who are just trying to find themselves . When she first meets Sabin, she is scared out of her mind. She’s scared of the demons and even more so scared of her self. But as Sabin helps her build her confidence up, she starts to realize how awesome she really is.

Thoughts on the plot:
So just like the last book, the addition to the plot was pretty awesome. For instance, Cameo and Torin have been having a secret kinda/sorta sexually relationship. Two of the most unlikely people, but I can dig it. We got a slew of new characters with Bianka, Kaia and Taliyah, basically more bad ass Harpies. Even more exciting Nix for the Immortal After Dark Series by Kresley Cole made a cameo. I smell a possible collaboration in the future. Although I don’t think this book helped propel the story any further, we did get new characters and who could be mad at that.

Favorite Part:
When Aeron found out what Paris gave up for him. His reaction and response were just so… epic. True Bromance for sure.  Also Gwen’s sisters sneaking up on Sabin while he slept, was pretty funny.

All in all, it was another great read, not high on my list as a favorite, but still worth anytime you choose to give it. Now on to the next one. Next stop Aeron in The Darkest Passion.
